Bay Resistance Institute

Bay Resistance Institute C3 is a powerful network committed to defending our beloved communities, our movements and our earth. As many of us come under attack, we recognize the need to band together across communities. Many of us are immigrant, Muslim, South Asian, Black, women, workers, queer, seniors & people with disabilities. All of us commit to take action to defend and support each other.

Bay Resistance Institute galvanizes a broader base of grassroots leaders and activated allies to stand in solidarity against hateful policies and actions. We root our actions in our principles, a few of which include Leading With Love; Transformative Solidarity; Right to Stay; and Deep Democracy. Together we are building a strong response to the threats and using our collective power to fight for the world we deserve.

As a broad network coordinating Bay Area based mobilizations and rapid response,
Bay Resistance Institute includes over 30 organizations and more than 22,000 individuals. Bay Resistance Institute is a vehicle for our network organizations to build off of the momentum of resistance and greatly expand the scale of our impact. We seek to deepen the resistance by grounding it in the leadership and ongoing work of frontline organizations and engaging moments of upsurge in ways that develop long-term movement capacities. Bay Resistance Institute is guided by a steering committee of organizations, which are membership-based and rooted in the communities that are increasingly vulnerable.
