Phonebank with Seed the Vote Action and our partner the Dolores Huerta Action Fund into Bakersfield, CA. We’ll be calling independent working-class voters who likely have mixed opinions about political issues. We’ll be asking lots of questions and listening deeply to hear what they care about, and how they’re thinking about politics these days. We’ll be using what we learn to develop more effective messaging that will help us hit the ground running in the 2026 primaries and fall midterm elections.
We are requiring that all phonebanking volunteers commit to a minimum of 3 phonebanking sessions. The reason is that this phonebanking will use deep canvassing methods, which requires a higher level of training and practice than other types of phonebanking.
You also will need to join at least one of the following phonebanks: Aug 18, Aug 20, or Aug 26. These times are when we will be offering a full training for any new phonebankers.
If you do not have prior experience or training in deep canvassing, let us know on your sign-up form, and we’ll reach out to you before the first phonebank to make sure this is a good fit for you.
We are especially looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers, but you do not need to speak Spanish to join.
Our hope is that volunteers who participate in phonebanking will also join us in-person in Bakersfield. However, this is not a requirement.
