Join Bay Resistance as our Communications Director and Senior Organizer
Bay Resistance are hiring for two critical leadership positions. If you're a seasoned communications strategist or senior organizer looking to build regional power in the Bay Area and fight against the attacks impacting all of our communities, these roles might be a great fit.
About Bay Resistance: Bay Resistance is a mass organizing network mobilizing communities to resist authoritarianism and defend impacted communities. Bay Resistance brings together community organizations, unions, and neighborhood groups in nonviolent resistance to protect our most vulnerable neighbors and fight authoritarianism through noncooperation, neighborhood patrols, political education, and coalition building.
Senior Organizer – Salary range to be determined. Help lead Bay Resistance's mass organizing and network development. You'll recruit, train, and develop volunteers; build and support action pods; coordinate volunteer activity across 75+ network organizations; and strengthen coalition relationships. Depending on your skills, this role may focus on network organizing, distributed volunteer organizing, digital organizing infrastructure, immigrant rights coordination (including ICE Watch), or campaign leadership. Requires 4+ years of community or union organizing experience with distributed organizing models, strong data and project management skills, and deep commitment to defeating fascism through mass base-building. May supervise organizers. Apply here
Communications & Digital Strategy Director – $90,000-$100,000/year Lead Bay Rising and Bay Resistance's narrative strategy, digital organizing program, media relations, and rapid response efforts. This role combines big-picture strategy with hands-on execution—building email/SMS programs, managing media relationships, and driving coordinated campaigns across the coalition. We want someone with 7-10+ years in strategic communications or digital organizing, preferably with electoral campaign experience. Apply here
Both positions are full-time, exempt, and based in Oakland and offer great medical, dental, vision, and generous PTO.
We strongly encourage applications from folks who are queer, trans, non-binary, BIPOC, disabled, parents, system-impacted, immigrants, and anyone who has experienced systemic oppression.
To apply: Submit your resume, cover letter, and references through their job portal. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, priority for applications received by January 31st.
If you know someone doing this work who might be interested, please pass this along. Bay Resistance is doing essential organizing across the region, and these roles will shape that work for years to come.
