National pushback against many facets of the Trump administration's agenda is prompting more local people to take action. In South San Jose on Thursday, a clear message was delivered directly to the front door of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Around 200 people gathered outside of Airbnb’s headquarters in the South of Market neighborhood on March 28 to denounce the dismantling of government programs and call on members of Congress to push back on cuts. 

Protesters stood in front of Tesla's office hoping to be heard. They represented labor unions, immigrant rights groups, faith-based organizations and even local politicians.

Multiple nonprofits like the Peninsula Peace and Justice Center and Bay Resistance, among many others, organized the event in response to the federal government “firing thousands of dedicated public servants,” and proposals to cut funding for Medicaid, Medi-Cal and SNAP food benefits.
