Don’t Wait Until November to Get Ready
MAGA and it's allies in the Supreme Court are escalating their attacks against the midterm elections. This week they’ve refused international election monitors and ramped up investigations into organizations trying to make sure everyone who can legally vote is able to. They’re doing everything they can to cling to power, but we can stop them from rigging the outcome of the election by organizing, supporting at-risk voters, and using community power to push back against their intimidation tactics.
Get trained. Get ready. Don’t wait for a redline to be crossed to be prepared to take action.

WE’RE SHOWING WHAT COMMUNITY POWER CAN DO
Last week, we marched to OpenAI's annual DevDay and picketed the entrance. We made national and international news, including APNews, Democracy Now, and Al Jazeera, for demanding Open AI end all contracts with war and ICE and sign the Businesses for Democracy Pledge to speak out against Trump’s rigging of our elections.
The next day, community members joined 1,000 nurses in marching to the ICE field office at 630 Sansome St. urging public institutions, universities, pension funds, companies, hospitals, and health care providers to cut contracts and partnerships with evil tech giant Palantir.
AB 1633 was also successfully signed by the Governor! This bill creates a prohibitive new 25% tax on private detention facilities with revenue going toward immigration-related services. Thank you to all the Bay Resistance members who submitted public comments! Unfortunately, the governor vetoed AB 2465, the "No Taxpayer Dollars for Family Separation Act”, which would have made any companies who profit from detention and deportation ineligible for state tax credits, grants and loans. This veto shows the limit of how far the Governor will go without continued organized pressure to dismantle systems of immigrant deportation and detention.
Now the work continues. Get trained. Get connected. Donate to support organizing to defend democracy and our communities.
