Thursday's demonstrations were organized by the campaign group Planet Over Profit, with help from a coalition of local groups including ACCE, Bay Resistance, and the immigration rights group Mijente.

The event drew a crowd of a few hundred people organized by Faith in Action East Bay, Bay Resistance and others.

Community group, Bay Resistance, hosted the vigil. Director Kimi Lee said they wanted to create a space where people can express their feelings about what's going on.

Protesters stood in front of Tesla's office hoping to be heard. They represented labor unions, immigrant rights groups, faith-based organizations and even local politicians.

Multiple nonprofits like the Peninsula Peace and Justice Center and Bay Resistance, among many others, organized the event in response to the federal government “firing thousands of dedicated public servants,” and proposals to cut funding for Medicaid, Medi-Cal and SNAP food benefits.
